Pretend you’re a low-tier football player who keeps getting benched. Your ball control is inconsistent, you panic under pressure, and you can’t seem to read the game properly.

Conventional wisdom would say, (if we applied self-help rules to it):

“Go practice more on your own and then go journal about how it made you feel. Watch tutorials and then self-reflect. Listen to podcasts about football strategy and go tell everyone how knowledgeable you are now.”

But here’s the common wisdom we always forget, no matter if it’s relationships, dating, sports, or personal development:
