How to Stop Fantasizing and Live Your Real Life
Simple ways to turn your mental energy into real-world success
You can visit heaven or hell anytime you want.
It’s all in how you think.
But neither heaven nor hell are good places to be.
How? By thinking your life away. By staying in an addictive loop of thinking, fantasizing, daydreaming, or rumination.
You can be addicted to fantasies and nightmares too.
Don’t believe me?
Everyone has their vice. For some people it’s food. For others it’s sex. And typically, we think of drugs and alcohol as the only addictive substances.
But for me, it’s thinking (and caffeine). Thinking has helped me generate and create ideas, but that strength is also my weakness.
I think WAY too much. And it’s not always good.
I noticed how my thinking affects me. I won’t bullshit you, I’m not perfect — I still get caught up in compulsive, addictive thinking.
But I’ve figured out how to create space in my thoughts and let go of overthinking.
Limit how much you think. Observe your thoughts. Identify less with the labels, fantasies, and fears.
But there’s more to it than that.
